Welcome to the Dorset Museum
Located at 80 Oakdene Road, Scottsdale, the Dorset Museum
has been purpose
built of timber and iron to blend in with our surroundings and in
keeping with its
contents.
The Dorset Museum contains a large display of Vintage and old fashions
and accessories of interest to the ladies and
a smaller display of gentleman’s
attire. Tools hang from the walls – all restored by Greg.
Kitchen artefacts, Laundry,
Sewing and Dairy stuff is also on display.
Photos of bygone days of the North East dot the walls. History information is also
available.
The
Garden:
The Dorset Museum was established 6 years ago
and the garden 15 years ago.
Spring is the best time of year to view it as it has many
Camellias,
Rhododendrons and azaleas.
Dry rock walls are a feature of the garden
(all constructed by Greg) along with
old farm machinery
and even a steam engine can be found in our garden.
Greg has also constructed a beach area complete with
sand – this is
a work in progress as is the rest of the
garden.
We are still planting and landscaping. We are in a
sheltered area
with native bush surrounding and
nearby.
